formatter not work on path object

I made the colorfomatter from the example as below, however, it does not work one freehand object, whenever a freehand tools is used, the code stuck as well as the page. I actually add a logic to check if the annotation is from a path svg but somehow it does not work either. just want to see if anybody has solution or seen this before, thanks
