Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there’s any chance that writing Variable Fonts and Color Fonts could eventually be supported in opentype.js?
From what I understand, opentype.js does not currently allow exporting variable fonts—correct me if I’m wrong. I know that most people use the library primarily for reading and manipulating font data, but having a JavaScript-based tool that can generate .otf files with modern features (like variable and color fonts) would be really valuable.
Would this be feasible, or are there major technical limitations that prevent it?
