A rapidly changing status, for exmaple a battery voltage that is on the edge of two zones, say "undervoltage" and "nominal" ... as it flickers between the two zones, it generates many, many alerts ... each displaying as a new alert and eventually consuming enough resources to render the system unresponsive, forcing a hard reboot.
I would expect the app not to try and raise a new alert window if a window of the same type from the same source is already active an not acknowledged. There should be tracking of what alerts windows are currently raised etc.
