- Fry on a lefsa grill at around 475°F.
- Bake in the oven at 325°F for 12-13 minutes, or until starting to look hard. Flip halfway through.
- Bake at 325°F for 12-13 minutes.
- Roll out with a small amount of flour to prevent sticking.
- You can use hot water from a water jug instead of boiling water; it works just as well.

Esther Tonneson
- Time to make: 2 hours

- 1 cup quick oatmeal
- 3 cups white flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1.5 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup or less (about 1/3 cup?) sugar

- 1.5 cups hot water
- 1.5 cups sweet cream
- Mix all dry ingredients together.
- Add the melted margarine, evaporated milk, hot water, and sweet cream.
- Cover the batter with wax paper to prevent drying out.
- Fry on a lefsa grill at 400-425°F. Fry slowly to avoid browning too quickly.
- Lay separate pieces to cool.
- Note: The original recipe says not to bake in the oven, but it's crossed out and says to use the oven for half the recipe at 350°F.
