Hello,
This week I did a small flake template and a direnv function
use devshell_tomlto help people use toml environments without having to write a single line of nix.https://github.com/vic/use_devshell_toml
Yes, I know this repo already has a toml template, and that having a full functioning flake is just a running the nix flake init command with it. If you are comfortable with nix, that's the way to go and you are not the target audience of this tool.
However I still believe many people get a bit scared editing and maintaining nix code on their repos. Maybe that's why we see some nix tolling using toml and json for configs.
Anyways, I'm using it on small projects I have to work with where I'm looking for a quick way to get the environment ready, without having to contribute back (maybe the repo does not align with nix ideas) a full flake.
Hope that little function can help people use devshell more. :)
