Can't tell where a package is located in a multiroot case

"my_package" is in the first workspace folder (workspace1) but there's no indication of that. I can't see its path unless I use the "copy project path" action and paste it somewhere

@cwebster-99 I am note sure how it got in this state where some of them show to path as description text and some don't. We have also gone back and forth on this (again bc of clutter), for the MVP do I move forward with no description?

and @connor4312 how do you feel about that? Do you want the description in the gray text with the path as a user?

I wonder if we could get some input on the design team on this:

• Is there another way we could indicate the structure here besides showing the path?
• Is showing the path in grey text the best way for us to communicate this information?

Based on @connor4312 feedback, it doesnt seem like putting the path in grey text is helpful because a user can't see the full path anyway. Should we show it on hover instead?

Putting it in grey text would work fine. I would expect the grey text in all cases would show a workspace-relative path rather than the absolute path as it does today. That is, the path relative to the workspace folder in a singleroot case, or <folder-name>/relative/path in the multiroot case.

Similar thing I ran into but with environment paths

I created a venv originally with requirements pytest and flask in the root folder

I then added /tests as a project and created a venv using quick create in this subfolder.

They show up exactly the same which can work since they have different paths but this is quite confusing in the view since they are two distinct environments but showing up the same. This could be addressed if the user set a different name but since I used quick create it is the same.

Decision : Remove the grey text for paths and then wait for more user feedback on how to map to specific workspace
