Bug report

  • AirSim Version/#commit: 1.8.1
  • UE/Unity version: 4.27.2
  • autopilot version: Ardupilot latest commit
  • OS Version: Windows 11

What's the issue you encountered?

Issue details
I'm using Ardupilot with AirSim with the QUAD airframe on SITL. By running the command "guided lat long alt", the drone moves towards the desired point but has a very large osylation until it positions itself at the right point. Why does this happen? How can it be solved?

Version
Mission Planner V4.4.0dev(ArduPilot/ardupilot@b0f0733)

How can the issue be reproduced?

  1. Run Ardupilot with Airsim like described in https://ardupilot.org/dev/docs/sitl-with-airsim.html
  2. mode stabilize
  3. arm throttle
  4. mode GUIDED
  5. takeoff 35
  6. guided -35.3632700 149.165270 35

I think you're having a similar issue such as mine, here: #4780

You can watch the YouTube video to see if it's the same type of oscillations. I added a couple of stop-gaps to my issue that I found. Otherwise I think this is a common Airsim bug. I have seen it in other posts and forums.
