Hi @mbentley,

It looks like TP-Link has just released version 6.0.0.24: https://old.reddit.com/r/TPLink_Omada/comments/1oomm9c/finally_dropped_omada_network_60_just_released/ I wanted to start a discussion post for V6 being stable and request support at your convenience.

Thank you for all your work on this project! I so love running it in k8s at home for automatic fail over.

See #443 for all the pre-reqs that went into it and #647 for the latest version. Assuming everything goes well with some tests, I should have the new version out tonight.

6.0.0.24 is still a Release Candidate. It doesn't show as fully released yet.
(TP-Link really needs to be more clear about what state each version is at)

The controller itself didn't show 6.x as an upgrade unless selecting Release Candidate. (This was still the case about 1 hour ago)

Yeah, it's inconsistent with how they have released things even on the website:

• The us site has it: https://support.omadanetworks.com/us/product/omada-software-controller/
• The en site does not: https://support.omadanetworks.com/en/product/omada-software-controller/

🤷 So I am not sure what API endpoints the controller uses to check for updates.

On connection, I now occasionally get a notification for a new version 6.0.0.25 which I don't see referenced anywhere.

The file offered for download is Omada_SDN_Controller_v6.0.0.25_linux_x64_20251120205736_1764216099518.tar.gz. I downloaded it but did unfortunately not save the link itself, and since then, the notification it has not yet shown up. But I guess that this version will soon be released.

Yeah, I also see that. I also posted this on the TP-Link forums:

The software release process seems a bit inconsistent. Not sure why exactly but typically it seems like release notes are usually published on the forums. Additionally, 6.0.0.25 isn't published directly on the download sites for en or us:

That is what I use to update the docker image so I don't publish updates until they are available there.

I think this inconsistency is why I didn't see the latest firmware for my gateway for a while.
It looks like that the controller looks somewhere different then the website lets us look.

mbentley , I managed to grab the URL the 6.0.0.25 file is downloaded from:

The 6.0.0.24 file on the website has the following path:
https://static.tp-link.com/upload/software/2025/202510/20251031/Omada_SDN_Controller_v6.0.0.24_linux_x64_20251027202524.tar.gz

Filename and server/domain name don't match. To me this seems like some pre-pre-release that is erroneously picked up as fully released.
