Create unit tests for the Data Services driver #106

Right now the Data Services driver does not have unit tests.

Before the logic in the driver was pretty light but now its getting complicated and has a good amount of logic and paths that could lead to issues.

In order to make sure we dont have bugs in it we should add unit tests to it.
