Unfortunately there is no consistency in how tuya cover devices are implemented, and anything I have tried to do to improve things for one device ends up breaking multiple other devices. If the device does not have an indication of the state of the device which covers all four states of opening, closing, open and closed, then there is no way to reliably report opening and closing state. |

Hallo Jason (@make-all), I really want to thank you for this integration with actual, pro-active support, especially when the othe one (LocalTuya) seems to be dying slowly...
Anyway I still have one question pls - yesterday I noticed my request (support for chinese cover switches) was closed as "not planed". OK, understood that not all devices could be fully supported.
My question is - when until now I was able to read the covers status correctly via the LocalTuya Integration, and since I want to leave it and move to yours Tuya-local, is there plz some way (maybe I can do it myself with some help somehow) to import just the state recognition for my chinese devices into your cover.py code, so I could be able to read the status of my switches?
I tried to compare both codes for "cover.py" (yours and LocalTyua's) and found different state-recognition subrutines... but since I am a complete noob in this I am affraid not to be able to implement this without any expert help - what code parts could I copy/move and adjust from LocalTuya to your Cover.py code to be able to read the statuses correctly?
I like how Tuya-local works overall, much simpler, cleaner, better integration of any devices, no any warning/error msgs in system log unlike LocalTuya, I only need to be able also to read the cover statuses - e.g. when I touch the wall switch to be able to recognize this action also in HA (not just see UNKNOWN state all the time.)
PLZ if maybe anyone could try to help, I would be very gladful.
thx.
Willy
