Can not choose the type of device

When I try to install a new smart switch I get a window to choose the type of device. The options does not match the type of device.

How to select the right device - which is not on the given list?
I have tried to install the smart switch open and close with the same result.

Currently there is no good way to deal with devices that do not send data when requested. Possibly the problem can be resolved by selecting a different protocol when configuring the device.

Too bad. I have several devices which had the same issue. Others have sorted out with several tries.

This particular device has worked with Tuya Local earlier. I just deleted it and tried to install again with no luck.

I am having same issue. I have several Gosund switches that are working in Gosund app and Alexa. 1st one worked. Second one did not. Just a simple switch.

I believe this is a problem for many users.

I hope this will be fixed. Users should be able to select any device from the complete list because automation is not smart enough for numerous devices.

There are currently 972 config files, "Users should be able to select any device from the complete list" is not a viable solution. It also won't help with devices that are not returning data.

That is a great amount of devices. Thanks to the developers!
There are several possibilities to make selection easier, word search, categories, etc. Also the selection option could be limited on manual adding.

This unit, I have a problem with is Smart Switch. Tuya returns that information to Tuya Local. Still Tuya Local guesses the device is ir remote or leak detector.

Currently how the selection is mechanized it makes some devices useless on Tuya Local.
