What would you like to be added?

It would be nice to have the option to link to an external log viewer like kibana. Maybe it would even better to add functionality to extend the action bars with custom links.

Why is this needed?

The internal log viewer has some drawbacks for certain use cases.

It would have to be a generic solution and the main issue is that we do not have a good way to store user configuration since Dashboard is stateless and a single ConfigMap can only hold ~1MiB of data. Storing everything in browser also has some downsides.

If you have some proposals we can discuss and consider implementing them.

The Kubernetes project currently lacks enough contributors to adequately respond to all issues.

This bot triages un-triaged issues according to the following rules:

  • After 90d of inactivity, lifecycle/stale is applied
  • After 30d of inactivity since lifecycle/stale was applied, lifecycle/rotten is applied
  • After 30d of inactivity since lifecycle/rotten was applied, the issue is closed

You can:

  • Mark this issue as fresh with /remove-lifecycle stale
  • Close this issue with /close
  • Offer to help out with Issue Triage

Please send feedback to sig-contributor-experience at kubernetes/community.
