[Feature request] Merge fixes from jimmon89's fork

jimmon89 pushed some fixes to his fork like reducing the log file spam, but it was based on an old 2.3 commit that can't be merged because of conflicts. So you might wanna check out the commit list here in case there's any other fixes that could be merged into the main repo HungryDoctor/x3daudio1_7_hrtf@master...ThreeDeeJay:X3DAudioHRTF:master

I had been maintaining a fork where I upgraded jimmon89's fork to 2.4 (except VS2022 which I think was the conflicting commit)

But it would be nicer to have everything back up in the official repo. 👀👌
