Purpose

The goal of this issue is to completely refactor how I setup Emacs.

This has been a long time coming. I'd really enjoy clearing out the cruft of my first steps using Emacs as well as moving to modular packages, better hook support, and clearer documentation. This should also help identify exact customizations I require out of other editors when I use/recommend those.

Goals

  • Literate configuration using org-babel
  • Automatically install modes as packages
  • Better support for custom key maps scoped under major modes
  • Better cross platform support (OSX, Linux, BSD)
  • Custom (even temp) callbacks upon saving unique files (reloading direnv changes)
  • Better bookmark support
