This is a UX improvement proposal, since the current UX was not intuitive, and I had to read the user manual on how to share my meal plan with a friend to collaborate on it.
This is how the UI looks at the time of writing:
As a user, my goal is to share the menu with a friend. I click share. But this opens iCal link sharing. Confusing. I had to click Edit/Rename Meal Plan which was not intuitive. The only way I found that is by reading the instructions... the name "edit/rename meal plan" doesn't suggest it has anything to do with sharing, especially given there's a huge "Share" button present.
Suggested UX
Have a single section only:
Add to shopping list
Copy Selected Day(s)
Move Selected Days(s)
Delete selected day(s)
Pin recipes open
Meal plan setting
Upon clicking Meal plan setting there's a single page which has the following options exposed:
iCal sharing link
Title edit field
Collaborators sharing field
Delete the meal plan button
( basically merging Edit/Rename Meal plan dialogue with Share dialogue and adding Delete Meal plan button there )
thus this way common meal plan actions are up-front, while everything related to meal-plan sharing & setting are in a single page, and not hidden beneath various buttons.
