And perhaps other similar flags, so they can be changed by a script.

Use case: i have a spare room that i generally don't care if it's too cold, so I have is_used_by_central_boiler set to false, to prevent this one room from starting the boiler.

When I have guests, I have a script that increases the temperatures on the presets for this room, but i would also like to set is_used_by_central_boiler to true. I don't seem to be able to do this at the moment.

I have a similar use case for an office with motion detection : I'd like to have an automation that enables the flag when someone is in the office (in Comfort mode) ... When it's empty, Eco mode does not need central boiler.

If someone is in the office the best way is to use the Movement detection. I have this in my office and it works fine.
Nobody -> Eco or Frost protection -> no need of heating for the central boiler,
Someone present -> Comfort or Boost -> if need of heating the central boiler will be activated. There is no need to switch the flag.

I do have motion detection activated and it works fine.

I should clarify that in my case the activation of the boiler is more like a boost mode (it takes the setpoint for the central thermostat from 18.5 to 24). So even without central boiler activation I have some heat in the pipes, it's just lower temp so slower to reach target temps overall.

Do you mean that only comfort or boost will activate central boiler? In my use case Eco will require heating quite frequently (poorly insulated home), but it's fine if boiler is not activated as I don't need the "boost mode" of the boiler.

What I explain to @tym-project are my doubt about this feature request. Why just not turn off or to Frost protection the Vtherm when you don't want the room to heat ? What the concern with the central boiler ?

In my case I need the room to stay in Eco while not used, else it will be too cold when I use the room in the morning, and starting from a temp too low would have the room reach Comfort target too late during the day.

Ideally this room would be best heated electrically (less inertia), but it's not technically feasible.

If I have no guests, I don't care if the spare room is cold, so it doesn't use central boiler. If I have guests and their room is the only one that needs heat, I want it to be able to ask for it. It's a naturally cold room, so this is likely to happen

Let's say that "activate central boiler" is more a boost mode than just on/off... By default heating is on but slow (for Eco and Frost mode), but if central boiler is activated/boosted then heating is faster (for Comfort and Boost modes).

Does that make more sense?

Ok, thanks. I also have a use case for being able to change the boiler activation threshold. I am often in a single room and turn up the temperature on the trv in that room. For this to work I need a threshold of 1. I would really prefer to have a higher threshold normally as I don't think 1 trv should normally be able to start the whole house heating. Should I open another discussion for being able to control the threshold?
