Date input

Hi, I'm attempting to make a date input component (mainly date time but my issue currently is just with date)

This code below should get the date from the user with the bootstrap Form control however it is not displaying the date chosen when a user picks a date however when it is submitted the correct date is still chosen 🤦 .

Any help is much appriciated.
