License for kerkerkruip? #426
Comments
I thought the license was on the github page but I could be wrong - I couldn't find it either. IFDB says it's GPL. |
Most of the characters and objects in the game are borrowed from other sources, so if you're making a new game with some of those characters, or even Kerkerkruip's mechanics, I don't think you need to worry about the license at all. Disclaimer - that's my perspective and does not reflect that of Viktor or any of Kerkerkruip's other developers. |
Ah, Viktor spells it "licence," the British way. That's why I couldn't find it. kerkerkruip/packages/windows/eula.rtf Line 13 in b341c3c
kerkerkruip/Kerkerkruip.materials/Extensions/Victor Gijsbers/Kerkerkruip Help and Hints.i7x Line 108 in b341c3c
The ATTACK module also mentions the license, and the ATTACK module was created with the intent of being used for other games: kerkerkruip/Kerkerkruip.materials/Extensions/Victor Gijsbers/Kerkerkruip ATTACK.i7x Line 5 in b341c3c
It probably wouldn't hurt to mention the license in the README too, though. |
i am thinking about making a game within the same genre and i am looking at kerkerkruip for insperation along with looking at the meterials to see if there is anything i can use or replicate for my game, but i don't know what license the game is released under and i can not seem to find a license anywhere near the top level(and have gone to the website in the description but can not seem to find anything there), so i am wondering you can add a license file to the repo to make it more clear?
