As far I as I can tell you are doing it right - a maintainer needs to look at the PR before the workflows to run.

@aymeric-roucher I do think it would be nice to document what a contributor should expect in terms of review times and how to tell if a PR is in a review queue or rejected. I haven't seen anything like that, in case I missed it.

Yep, that info about "item IS IN backlog" would be appreciated. Making people (at least I can see this that way😃) more determined to contribute / contribute better 🙂

Again, the "rules of contribution" are there but grok, chatGPT, or even Gemini can't give me definite answer if my contribution is "in pending" status (should I merge again, can I make more commits on that branch, much questions)

Please understand that even knowing git itself, the github (with contribution) is a whole different story - any feedback will help. (I wonder, maybe it's crappy, there are no unit tests and no one takes it seriously?)
