Make sure you have the remote connection configured correctly.
Ensure that the user logged into the app can also log in remotely and not just locally.
Check if iOS app permissions are correct (location should be set to “Always”).
In Home Assistant, verify if other sensors (from the same iPhone) are updating correctly or if no sensors are updating at all.
In the Home Assistant mobile_app integration, remove your device (and any other devices you don’t recognize).
Reboot your phone (Sounds unecessary I know, but very frequently users have solved different type of issues from networking to location access with a simple reboot)
There is a known bug where the location permission is reverted from “Always” to “Only while in use” by iOS after updating the app. Currently, the assumption is that the issue lies with iOS, as there is no way for developers to enforce such a change.
If you are debugging for a family member, ensure they haven’t changed the location permission. iOS often asks if they “still want to” share location with Home Assistant, and many users deny it without reading the prompt. (There is a sensor called “Location Permission” that helps debug this issue.)
