The following forms cannot derive from ambigenus, -a, -um nor from ambigens, -entis. If there is no explanation for them, they should be removed from the word lists.

  • ambigenera
  • ambigenere
  • ambigeneri
  • ambigeneribus
  • ambigeneris
  • ambigenerum

The word ambigenus is a compound (ambi + genus). The liturgical hyphenation should be am-bi-ge-nus rather than amb-i-ge-nus.

The following words are not compounds. The should be hyphenated according to the general rules.

  • Ambianensis (adjective for a Gallic people, cf. ThLL 1, col. 1837, line 18)
  • Ambituorum, Ambituis, Ambituos (inflected forms of Ambitui, a people in Galatia)

The following homographs should be documented:

  • amb-itui (< amb-itus) vs. Ambitui (a people in Galatia)
  • amb-ivi (< amb-eo) vs. Ambivi (< Ambivius, Latin name)
