[Feature]: Take ownership of the specify-cli pypi.org project #2908

Description

@youngjoel

Problem Statement

I'm frustrated when I can't trust uv tool install specify-cli because the owners of the pypi project are not the same as the owners of the github project.

Proposed Solution

I am one of the owners of the pypi specify-cli project. I am happy to grant the project to the spec-kit team if the team commits to pushing each new build (and adding readme = "README.md" to the pyproject.toml)

Component

Specify CLI (initialization, commands)

AI Agent (if applicable)

None

Use Cases

  1. when working at companies, they might use artifact management tools like nexus and artifactory. Having the wheels in standard places like pypi.org makes it easier to pull, review, and cache these artifacts.

Acceptance Criteria

uv tool install specify-cli@latest

just works.
