git-lfs post commit hook error, but only in app

Whenever I commit or try to push, I see an error message:

This repository is configured for Git LFS but 'git-lfs' was not found on your path. If you no longer wish to use Git LFS, remove this hook by deleting .git/hooks/post-commit.

However, I don't get this error when running git commands in terminal.

I am running on an M1 Pro Mac.

I'm not sure whether this is related but I am using PNPM and I get pre-commit errors stating that PNPM is not found. The only way for me to quell this error is to install PNPM via Homebrew. I too do not get this error on the CLI.

@andrewhavens Do you mind trying this out in the 1.3.3 build (currently on the continuous channel)? We bumped libgit2 to version 1.4.4 and I'm curious if it resolves this for you.

@andrewhavens I removed git-lfs installation and installed it manually, now GitUp seems to be working ok.

Prior to that, with Homebrew git-lfs installation, I faced following errors:

Going to roll a 1.3.5 and revert our libgit2 version back to what we had in 1.3.2.

I just came across my own reported issue as I was trying to figure this out again, but I think I figured out the problem. The GitUp wiki says:

GitUp also natively supports Git LFS assuming the command line tool is installed at /usr/local/bin/git-lfs.

But this is where Homebrew linked it:

$ which git-lfs
/opt/homebrew/bin/git-lfs

Ah, what if you add a symlink to the Homebrew path to where we expect it to be? Perhaps could add some advanced preference option to select a different path if we are just currently hardcoding it.

I too hit this again, and found this issue again. Glad to see the issue identified; a symlink is better than my previous workaround.

Homebrew and MacPorts are listed on the git-lfs website, so perhaps the hardcoded path could be expanded to a list of candidate locations? Or, indeed, a preference.
