Reading Korp output witn the dictionary NDS

When browsing the output of a search in Korp, one easily runs into unknown words. Then Neahttadigisánit comes in handy. This dictionary platform offer (to a varying degree!) translations of almost all the languages in Korp.

Installation and use

  • First, go to the dictionary for your language (see the list below).
  • There, click on the second of the green links at the top of the page, Click-in-text. Drag the green button to your bookmark line, as explained in the first paragraph. You may want to rename the bookmarklet to e.g. the name of the dictionary
  • Back in the Korp interface, do the search you want, and thereafter you click on the bookmarklet. An Á (or book symbol) will appear to the left of the screen
  • Click on this symbol to ensure you have the language pair you have.
  • Then, alt-click on the words in the search (see picture below).

Note! The Á will disappear after each new search, and you have to click on the bookmark again.

Troubleshooting: You may get the error message Error! Could not connect to dictionary server. The reason for this is that you use http and not https. Add the s after http, e.g. by copying the url to a text editor, adding the s, and pasting the address back to the browser.
