Use Cases

Users have limited and inconvenient control over the playback speed of their videos. Using a slider and settings to change the preference of that slider would fix the issue.

Proposal

It would be nice to have a slider input instead of buttons for playback speeds. It would be nice to allow the user to specify the min, max and step value from the settings and default it to what YouTube uses.
