What happened?

Playlist tab on channels does not load at all

Shorts tab on channels does not load at all

If you tap a video then quickly close it before it plays it will play anyway

UMP died again, videos don't load on it, possibly temporary cause iOS streams refused to load a day back and now load just fine

The Youtube Plugin Updater continues to act as a pseudo reinstall button (recall it was reported before, added it anyway for the sake of a comprehensive report)

Note: Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G unavailable, sent to carrier service under warranty after extensive testing showed that the Auto Brightness sensor is busted (drains 50% more battery when its on comapred to OFF), camera being also suspected of being broken in the same way as auto brightness due to the nature of these two components, screen confirmed to be busted in the same way as the auto brightness sensor after phone charged in 15 minutes with the screen turned off compared to three hours when its on, and the charging port having confirmed issues since its usually limiting the charge to a rate of 30 minutes from 0 to 100 under the conditions i used it in (screen on or off), with the charger itself being busted as well (max. 8000mA charge rate, out of 15000mA, with the fucking thing heating up almost immediately and killing the charge rate entirely (1000mA) aaand the cable having a yellowish color around the USB-C port.)

Possibly goanna get a new 12 Pro from Warranty.

Checked Bladed Angel to see if shorts work there and they do.
Apologies. Last few days have been infuriating to say the least.
Atleast playlists show up in searches it you know the author's name.

As for UMP/iOS streams randomly not working then working, i ain't got a clue this time.
Maybe if i had more patience i could add more details but that shit ran out the window of a 12 story building.
Though of note, both on the 9T and 12 Pro (...before the fucker lost its will to live) disabling caching entirely fixed the issue almost completely.

Quick update: oddly similar issue to watching shorts on iOS, with UMP on LONG videos

-12:-55 on 22 hour long videos.
Otherwise it seems to work.

Honestly i am in a holding pattern for about 13 more days until i get word on the phone. I could try to send a backup of my grayjay settings and whatnot or maybe screenshots of the app and plugin settings if it helps. Wouldn't mind. @Zvonimir-FUTO

Update: iOS streams are completely null and void, the plugin falls back on UMP constantly.
UMP itself fails to load sometimes, and other times it just remains stuck on -12:-55 without the error of "UMP fail to load" showing up.
The rate at which UMP doesn't play videos grows by the hour.
In addition, sometimes, the youtube plugin will not load any recommendations on the home page, instead it'll be stuck in an infinite loading loop until the home page is refreshed.

There is so many unrelated and different issues here that its unmanageable to really respond to any one thing.

Seems to most critical thing is UMP not functioning in your particular case?
We are unable to reproduce this as widely as you claim atleast.

Replies can just be pointing to Youtube returning no comments, and the error is a bit misleading.. Youtube often shows there are replies, but when you open them, none exist. (common in the browser).

We'll atleast investigate the UMP thing a bit. I also plan on implementing an alternative to both iOS and UMP which might help this too.

Well its kinda intentional since i discovered one too many issues.
As a small edit, these issues have been present in the past, they were rare, but now they pop up more often.

However, i must add that the phone i am on in its current state, might actually be the root of the issues, since rooting itself is entirely unstable and has some issues on Android 12. Might switch the OS entirely once i get my actual phone back. Hopefully, tomorrow. Though it is a Xiaomi and repairs on it are moot in my experience. We'll see.

UMP not working is indeed the biggest issue, and the most i can do to keep it working is clear the app cache every hour.

In fact, as uncertain as i am of this, Cache seems to be often the issue in these hard to reproduce cases, once the App itself has reached 480 MB in size (the cache being 300 MB out of that size), the app tends to break. Regardless if the option "Always reload from cache" is turned on or not, it is a pattern i noticed.

As long as there is no cache in the app, the youtube plugin will load videos. Sometimes it takes a while, but eventually it'll play videos.
It'll be interesting to see what this new alternative is.
