Project Name: Boxo-starter-kit Project Category: Education & Outreach Description: boxo-starter-kit is a step-by-step guide for navigating IPFS and Filecoin. While the ecosystem is rich and diverse, its complexity often overwhelms newcomers, becoming a major barrier to entry. This toolkit makes the journey approachable by starting with simple concepts like blocks and CIDs, then gradually introducing advanced concepts like IPNI and trustless gateways. By lowering the entry barrier, it helps grow the developer community and accelerates contributions across the Filecoin and IPFS ecosystem. |

Project Name: Project Category: Description: JZFS adapts principles of open-source software development and distribution to address the technical challenges of data management, data sharing, and digital provenance collection across the life cycle of digital objects. Compared with code in software development, data tend not to be as precisely identified because data versioning is rarely or only coarsely practiced. Scientific computation is not reproducible enough, because data provenance, the information of how a digital file came to be, is often incomplete and rarely automatically captured. Last but not least, in the absence of standardized data packages, there is no uniform way to declare actionable data dependencies and derivative relationships between inputs and outputs of a computation. JZFS aims to solve these issues by providing streamlined, transparent management of code, data, computing environments, and their relationship. JZFS‘s central use case is the Data Hub-and-Spoke Model integrating JZFS and Filecoin (Like Github, buf for Data) to advancing Open Science/AI/Research which essentially consists of a Git version control for data and a Git collaboration for data. Project Name: CrossFi Project Category: Education & Outreach Description: CrossFi is a cross-chain DeFi protocol built to unify isolated assets and liquidity across public blockchains such as Ethereum, Filecoin, BSC, and more. It enables users to deposit native tokens (e.g. FIL), lock them, mint synthetic or “mirrored” versions (cTokens), and use those assets in lending, borrowing, swaps or synthetic asset markets without being constrained by chain boundaries. The native token CRFI powers governance, staking rewards, and serves as collateral for minting synthetic assets. Through features like multi-asset adapter protocols, trust layers (L1+L2), and liquidity sharing pools, CrossFi aims to make cross-chain DeFi seamless, liquid, and more accessible. Project Name: FILLiquid Project Category: Education & Outreach: Description: FILLiquid is a decentralized liquidity pool and multi-chain lending platform built on FVM, empowered by the Filecoin ecosystem, multi-chain expansion, and AI integration. $FIL holders can deposit their tokens into the decentralized liquidity pool to earn passive income through interest paid by borrowers. Additionally, its mining product boosts returns through $FIG rewards. FILLiquid stands out from other lending markets because service providers can access $FIL liquidity without depositing crypto or fiat collateral. Instead, they simply use their beneficiary address as collateral to obtain $FIL loans. The ecosystem has expanded to the BSC chain and will cover Solana and Base chains in 2025, aiming to build a DeFi super hub combining storage, computing, and AI. Project Name: Parity Protocol Core to Parity Protocol is its ability to support verifiable AI, including large language model inference and federated learning, ensuring outputs can be trusted without relying on centralized intermediaries. The protocol features a reward mechanism that incentivizes correct execution, with a roadmap toward staking, governance, and a fully-fledged decentralized compute marketplace. By embedding verifiability at the protocol layer, Parity Protocol lowers the trust barrier for AI and high-performance compute, enabling communities, enterprises, and developers to confidently build on a shared, decentralized compute fabric. By extending to the Filecoin ecosystem and other decentralized infrastructures, Parity Protocol aligns compute with storage and coordination layers, ensuring scalability and cross-domain utility. It is designed as a foundational protocol for verifiable AI systems, decentralized science (DeSci), and next-generation digital public goods. GitHub: https://github.com/theblitlabs |

Introduction
This thread is the kick-off for the project showcase phase of FIL-RetroPGF-3.
Projects that have shown significant impact from November 2024 to September 2025 (inclusive) are invited to participate in this transparent, community-driven process. Whether you've been building infrastructure, developing tools, conducting research, or supporting the ecosystem in other ways, this is your opportunity to gain recognition and funding for your contributions.
Through the generous support of round donors Protocol Labs, Filecoin Foundation and LotusPond Association, there is a record breaking 585,000 FIL allocated to the round.
Overview of Timelines
This opening phase provides projects with a platform to showcase their impact on the Filecoin ecosystem and receive early feedback from the community. If you've been building in the Filecoin space over the past year, this is your moment to highlight your accomplishments.
Anyone may showcase their project for FIL-RetroPGF-3! Specific instructions for how to showcase are listed below.
How to Participate?
Step 1. Submit a GitHub comment on this thread – Briefly describe your project below with the following details
Step 2. Spread the word – Share your comment on X or other social media, tagging the FIL-RetroPGF and round donor accounts to engage the community and maximize visibility. An example post is given below:
Tip: You can make add-on tweets to put more information in! (use the '+' when making your first tweet)
Important Note: Visibility on the projects happening to people outside of the Filecoin ecosystem is valuable to the whole Filecoin community. Badgeholders are recommended to weigh engagement and communication as important factors when evaluating which projects to fund.
Project Categories for Round 3
Filecoin-RetroPGF-3 will distribute FIL to public goods that support Filecoin in one of the following categories:
Note: The Filecoin Stack refers to the OSS code powering Filecoin, its dependencies, and related codebases.
Project Showcases will close by 6th October 2025.
