I think that grid view would be a very good addition - I will look into it. Maybe it will require a little bit of refactoring 🙃
As for high quality images being rendered as thumbnails - yes, this is the problem I'm still struggling with. Did you encounter some lag when scrolling?
I really don't want to store additional copies of the images in lower quality somewhere in the collection or outside. The idea is that the program should have as little intervention into your collection as possible and only act as viewer.
I tried to optimize decoding and make image loading asynchronous, but it seems like lower quality images for thumbnails are still a requirement. I would be glad if I could be able to render lower resolution on the fly. I will definitely return to this issue at some point.
About rating badge. What kind of rating would it be? Is this a bookmark count or some user-defined rating? If it's a bookmark count - I don't think that it would be relevant as it won't update the numbers and would depend on when you downloaded each work.
Once again, thanks for your ideas - I'm glad to see someone use my program 😊
Yeah... I understand that adding smaller images will increase storage size. I downloaded two artist profiles to test, which came to around 500 images, and I experienced some lag. I’m not sure if resizing on the fly would increase CPU usage.
By 'rating badge,' I mean something like R18, R18(G), AI (fuck AI anyway. just saying as an option), or maybe one for animated content. Ideally, it would be a small badge in the top left corner, similar to YouTube's notification number in the bell."
The viewer looks pretty nice. Is it possible to add these features
