Something that bugs me in Renoise using phrases in the pattern editor is that it can be hard to distinguish on which track audio is playing or not. Since the note events hidden away in phrases can’t be seen in the main pattern editor.
I wonder if it would be possible to implement the following in a tool format;
the ability to add signal followers to all (or manually selectable amount of tracks) which output can be hooked up to the tracks color / background blend value of the tracks. So every time audio runs through the signal follower, depending on the amplitude of the signal, the color is affected more or less. I imagine this to be handy, especially for tracks with long audio samples and phrases where the pattern editor doesn’t have many note events.
