Вопрос не очевидный.

С одной стороны в daemon.c много плохого кода, который просит замены.

С другой стороны, корни проблемы уходят в пул тредов, который унаследован из libldap. Поэтому доработка затронет и libreldap, т.е. приведет к вынужденной замене пула тредов.
