non-dictionary data in AsyncClient raises a weird exception

This code:

import httpx
import asyncio


async def main():
    async with httpx.AsyncClient() as client:
        r = await client.post('https://www.example.com/', data=['x'])
    print(r)


loop = asyncio.get_event_loop()
loop.run_until_complete(main())

ends in

I'm pretty sure this is not the best possible Exception to raise : )

I'm in complete agreement with you on that. What exception message would we ideally want to see instead?
