Can't search for user ids including homeserver adress "internal server error"

Steps to reproduce

1° go to this button on all chats screen

2° click on "start chat"

3° search for any user id includint the homeserver ex: @name:homeserver (the homeserver doesn't need to be right or completed, the moment any letter is inputted after the ":" the error happens

Outcome

What did you expect?

I expected it to show me users that had a corresponding @ and homeserver the same way the searches without homeserver inputted do

What happened instead?

It gave me an error saying "internal server error"

tried on both F-droid 1.5.8 and play store 1.5.11 [40105112] (G-40bfffae) (currently I'm on play store version)

Homeserver

tried on two of them chat.tchncs.de (synapse 1.74.0) and chat.mistli.net (synapse 1.74.0rc0 if I'm not mistaken)

Hi, did you manage to solve the problem? Today I have the same problem on two different phones (Samsung Galaxy A05s android 14 / Xiaomi Redmi 13 Android 14).
APK downloaded from F-droid, installation ok. Account creation, no problem. Search person: internal server error
the error is also present on the galaxy s23+, which had been working perfectly for over a year!

I looked here and doesn't seem like it's happening to me anymore, but sadly i have no idea when the problem went away, it's been a while and i don't remember if it did go away by itself or if i did something, the only thing i remember is that when i made this report i was on a trip and because of that i wasn't using my usual internet connection, so maaaybe, just maybe said connection had something to it and was causing the issue, i think it's unlikely but i don't really remember anything else now, sorry
