Plan and execute migration to codejail service in Stage

  • Execute documented rollout plan to Stage (linked above)
• Ticket edge and prod deployments.
  • Similar plan, but following dark-launch compatibility check, we'll do a dark-launch Python upgrade to 3.12.

Deployment Plan Notes:

• Dark launch and compare codejail-service using Python 3.8.
• Once ready, leave the service dark-launched and upgrade to Python 3.12.
• If able to resolve issues before blocking the overall edxapp containerization effort, complete switch to Python 3.12. If not, catalog issues, revert to Python 3.8, and complete the switch to the new service.
• Python upgrade requires communications with Partners. Providing a warning to partners might make the process more efficient, but is not strictly necessary.
