when doing a search on open-vsx.org, you will see that now:

while in fact there are more extensions available in the registry, but the total count is fixed to 10000. That seems to be the default for the result window of elastic search.

We either need to find other ways to calculate the total hit count for a search or adjust the result window size.

Hi, I’d like to work on this issue.

A possible approach could be adjusting how the total hit count
is displayed when Elasticsearch returns the capped value (10,000).

Would a UI-side improvement (e.g., showing "10,000+" instead of
an exact value) be acceptable?
