In the document under tck-id-topics-dbirth-metric-reqs it states that "[tck-id-topics-dbirth-metric-reqs] The DBIRTH MUST include every metric the Edge Node will ever report on."

Is this correct? I would have expected the device should only send its own metrics.

I've been sparring with a colleague and we've come to the following conclusion:

The Edge Node is the one reporting the DBIRTH and thus in charge of what metrics to report on for a particular device. So it doesn't mean that the DBIRTH will send the Edge Node metrics, but rather that it contains the device particular metrics the Edge Node will report on.

If this is indeed correct, I suggest it be rephrased as follows:

[tck-id-topics-dbirth-metric-reqs] The DBIRTH MUST include every metric the Edge Node will ever report on for this specific device."

Thanks for your inquiry. The DBIRTH includes all metrics with the current values of the specific device. I would suggest a slightly different edit. "[tck-id-topics-dbirth-metric-reqs] The DBIRTH MUST include every metric the Edge Node *Device* will ever report on."
