How to opt out of checkUpdates()

Is there a way to opt out of checkUpdates() on each deployment ?

So i can we the code have this if before: if (!$plan) {. Maybe we can somehow simulate the $plan to be on.

I'm not totally against the checkUpdate(), but if I do 10 deployment locally in one day I do not need 10 checks

You could also make it a commandline option --check-for-updates

I agree. It would be preferable in check can be done once per day. For this some sort of file is needed. But i do not want to create some random file on users machine.

Maybe we can add flag DEPLOYER_CHECK_UPDATE_FRED='1d' and file will be created only if this flag is present.

I am in favor of the commandline option. Doing a deployment is not the right time to check for updates.
