[FR] Add sankey/alluvial plots to visualize abundances

microViz is awesome. I am playing around it I wonder if there is any chance to implement an alternative way of visualizing taxa/lineages abundances using a sakey diagram or alluvial plots. Two ggplot extensions can handle this directly ggsankey and ggalluvial. Both seem not stalled extensions. And I think it could add some fancy abundance visualizations.

I won't currently have time to add new features, but here are some notes if either you want to have a go or I come back to this (in a few months)

taxatree_plots creates a tidygraph using its helpers taxatree_nodes and taxatree_edges, then plots with ggraph.

I discovered a package networkflow appears to have functionality to convert tidygraph objects to a format suitable for ggalluvial

Thanks for the quick response. I will take a look at the link you shared, maybe I can use it in my analyses. I would like to help in the implementation but I do not have too much experience in dev R packages. Anyway, thank you for letting this open!
