A customer asked if it was possible to add other Keyboard layouts to the OnScreen Keyboard. We found this is possible. This case is to add all the available Keyboard layout options to the next OS. To complete this you can use the following steps:

  • Power on your CPU. Once the DAKboard has loaded press ALT + F4 (On a Mac Keyboard this will be FN + Option + F4 instead).
  • Click the Raspberry Icon in the upper left corner, and open the Internet browser
  • Click the Extensions Icon and open the onscreen keyboard extension as seen below:

  • From here, click "Open Virtual Keyboard Settings" as seen below:

  • Next, select the Keyboard Layouts you want, click the add button, and the layouts will be placed into the Selectable options list. See below:

  • Finally, when you bring up the OnScreen Keyboard, you will see a Gear Icon to the left of the Spacebar. Click this to open the Keyboard layout selection as seen below:
