How to Keep Track of the Number of Assertions in Each Test?

Hello. I'm posting this question because I'm researching how to track metrics on the number of assertions we have per test. Does Cypress offer any way to do this? Or perhaps Cypress Cloud provides some way to view the number of assertions in a repository.
I had in mind using something like this:

let assertionCount = 0;

beforeEach(() => {
  assertionCount = 0;
  cy.log("🔄 Reset assertion counter to 0");
});

afterEach(() => {
  cy.log(`Total Assertions in test: ${assertionCount}`);
});

Cypress.Commands.add("getAssertionCount", () => {
  return assertionCount;
});

Cypress.Commands.add("logAssertionCount", () => {
  cy.log(`Current assertion count: ${assertionCount}`);
});

Cypress.Commands.overwrite(
  "should",
  (originalFn, subject, assertion, ...args) => {
    assertionCount++;
    cy.log(`Assertion "${assertion}" counted. Total: ${assertionCount}`);
   
    return originalFn(subject, assertion, ...args);
  }
);

But I don't find it very practical, and I'm getting quite a few counting errors. Has anyone done something like this before?
