tau value for GCaMP8

Hi,

now my lab is using GCaMP8 version instead of GCaMP6 for two-photon imaging. Since the decay time of GCaMP8 is faster than GCaMP6 and also if my understanding is correct, the Suite2p is developed based on GCaMP6 data, so we think that we need to change tau value. I'm wondering whether you have any recommendation value for GCaMP8.

I'd also love to get a clear answer on this as we're on 8f now as well. Anecdotally it seems to do an okay job with the tau set to 0.1, but that was determined entirely by trial-and-error guessing and not something empiric.

0.1 also works well for me, though it can be as low as 0.07, like in the paper.

I am struggling with using a super low tau for GCaMP8m with a lower fs. Our fs is 7.7 and when I did that in combination with a lower tau (0.1, 0.12), suite2p wouldn't recognize the fluorescence of my cells. When I would add a cell, it doesn't show up. The cells I added do in the manual add ROI tab but once I go back to the home page they disapear and I can only tell I added them by randomly clicking on the screen until I accidentally click on one and a circle appears around it. When I did a fs of 10 and kept a low tau the same thing happened, but when I did fs 7.7 and the automatic tau (1.0) the cells showed up like normal. But for GCaMP8m you're supposed to use a lower tau like 0.1. So I'm not really sure what I did wrong or what to do.
