Does Continue work with vscode SSH-Remote?

I tried to create a MCP server connection and got:

ENOENT: no such file or directory, open 'C:\Users\<my_windows_user_name>\AppData\Local\Programs\Microsoft VS Code\vscode-remote:\ssh-remote%2B<my_unix_ssh_remote_machine>\<my_workspace_in_nfs>\.continue\mcpServers\new-mcp-server-1.yaml'.

@etse1288 Any chance you can provide more context. I am not sure what I provide will be useful, but in case someone else has a similar issue. This seems like a case not covered in our documentation, so more context would be helpful here.

basically select MCP Server, then Add MCP Servers. new-mcp-server-x.yaml will pop up in vscode. After I edit the yaml file I see the red hazard triangle and if i click on it that message i quote in the OP will show up.

There is an error in the yaml, based on that icon appearing. Are you able to share what's in the file?

the error is No such file or directory, because it doesn't understand SSH remote files, I think. At the minimum the extension should be "installable on the remote machine". There is a setting in package.json to do that. (extensionKind)

Override extensionKind to "workspace" and you should be able to install it in the remote.
