Description

This is an enhancement request for the Seafile CE script that was just released. I have been wrestling with Seafile PE (the Professional Edition, free for 3-user-or-less instances) in a VM for some time and I've gotten it to work, but at the expense of a huge time sink. I've been hoping Seafile would come to Helper Scripts someday, never thinking that the Professional edition is a slightly different installation technique and wouldn't come along with the Community Edition script.

Is it possible to make a Seafile PE script? maybe even offer the PE version as a custom option in the regular script?

I am against it, basically only freely accessible open source projects should be used anyway, at most community editions or other free ones. When I read Pro Version, the paywall alarm bells ring for me and it's not worth it.

Agreeing with @MickLesk on this. We would like only to support community and/or free editions of the apps we make scripts for. Pro versions are pro for a reason and should be paid for. That payment includes support almost always, something we can't provide or we just won't do.

I get the community/free policy. The Seafile Pro Edition is also free as long as you stay under 3 users. Their licensing model kind of blurs what is usually a sharp line. As a solo freelancer, this is de facto free software for me, but depending on your needs it may require payment.
The Seafile PE journey has been a great real-world learning experience on a complex Docker Compose system in a VM behind a reverse proxy.

Also, a downside of having a commercial version of the app in our LXC script collection is that users would eventually go to the app dev and complain how something is not working in the LXC they just installed and vice versa. It happens daily. People keep coming to us, complaining about stuff the app does, as if we are the ones who develop the app.
