Anyone open to using pixi?

I've started using pixi as an alternative to mamba and conda for my builds. It's compatible with the pyproject.toml format. It defaults to conda-forge for its channel.

Are y'all open to adding pixi as a build tool for examples? I'll follow up with a PR.

I support pixi. I wonder if we could document both pixi and uv as dependency management tools

uv is handy if you're in geopandas land. Once you start having to deal with QGIS, qgis-processing, GDAL/OGR.

That caveat aside, I think uv really is fantastic for Python-only projects.

Yes, I agree there are times when uv is sufficient and times when you want the conda ecosystem and pixi is preferred.
