While melodic generation has improved in 1.4.6, there still lacks a way of balancing out (and control) the ratio of step motion versus skip motion in generated melodies.

Ironically still, the "legacy/deprecated" generator AtonalLine did this since day one.

Attached is a draft algorithm that could be useful.
