./gradlew assembleRelease breaks in new expo app

Hey, I've created a library using builder-bob. When using it in develop mode it works fine. But when I try to create a release APK (for testing certain things) the command fails with:

I'm just wondering if I made some mistake in the configuration of the library or if this is some expo quirk that cannot generate apks via the assembleRelease command anymore.

I think as long as you use expo prebuild this command should work properly. Do you have a .aar dependency in your library?

I just checked in a bare RN project and also getting this error. I'm not 100% sure. I'm using GeckoView which might have an AAR inside indeed.

Having an aar transitive dependency caused lots of issues personally before. I would recommend using a fat-aar library like https://github.com/kezong/fat-aar-android

Going to close this, since it's not a problem with builder-bob or expo. It's something to do with my package itself. Maybe it's using packaged AARs and that somehow breaks.

I had this in the build.gradle of my library.

  buildFeatures {
    prefab true
  //   prefabPublishing true
  }

Apparently that broke the build
