Native app for MacoS #7563
Comments
It only has a fraction of the features you've mentioned, but you might be interested in Sky.app, which AIUI is kind of a wrapper for bsky.app that adds things like keyboard shortcuts and notification badges. |
I know about it, but this is for me a reason to not use it anymore on the moment. Once that is fixed, that would work for me. |
Yeah I can see how that would be a dealbreaker. |
If that get fixed, it would be a great app. There is no alternative right? |
There are a few others listed here: https://docs.bsky.app/showcase?tags=client I asked my friend and he uses Bluesky for Raycast for some things: |
Thanks, but I'll wait until the Sky app works for now. |
Describe the Feature
A native BlueSky app for macOS would revolutionize the way users interact with the platform, delivering a seamless, fast, and highly efficient experience tailored to the macOS ecosystem. With optimized performance and intuitive design, the app could offer:
• Streamlined Access: Eliminate the need to rely on web browsers. A standalone app provides faster access and reduces distractions for focused work.
• System Integration: Take advantage of macOS features like notifications, Spotlight search, and keyboard shortcuts, ensuring smoother workflows and better multitasking.
• Offline Functionality: Enable users to draft posts, browse timelines, or queue updates offline, with automatic syncing when back online.
• Enhanced Performance: A native app leverages macOS architecture for faster load times, reduced memory usage, and a more responsive interface compared to a browser-based experience.
• Customizable Interface: Allow users to personalize themes, layouts, and preferences to suit their working style, blending functionality with aesthetics.
• Privacy and Security: Provide end-to-end encryption and built-in macOS security features, ensuring a safer environment for communications and content management.
Whether you’re a casual user or a professional looking to manage your BlueSky account efficiently, a native macOS app would simplify your experience, boost productivity, and make staying connected more enjoyable.
