pressing power button brings up the options overlay only after a few seconds #134

it is not about rendering the options is slow, but the response time before plasma even starts blending them in... so for 3-4 seconds one waits and thinks nothing actually was triggered...

Yeah its the fade in effect. It also affects the lock screen after suspend to ram.

is it still doing that if we disable fade in?

hmm, Fade FX is already disabled here...?

Yeah that is using some QML Fade In effect I fear. Not sure. Will ask on irc.

there is another one called "logout", where it says it fades when logging in :D

disabling that seems to help a bit?

ksmserver-logout-greeter is a separate application so it handles Qt version updates and other library changes (looking at you, nvidia) at runtime more gracefully. However, this also means it has to load all the fonts, plasma stuff, and so on when it starts. Since Dolphin takes multiple seconds to start, the same would hold true for that application.
