Try again. I have it working just as expected, with its ups and downs, as one can expect from a beta release.
I suggestion would be to re-dowload the image and do a sha256sum of the file, it should return 3988a209b48fafb4e753474ca21c576aad81cf28af5dd1bc88a9c3d1e885b358. Then, try to burn it directly from etcher without compress. I think etcher can self-extract the image.
You should be able to use a keyboard and mouse, yet Mycroft Assitant can disturb if you open any application. So firtst configure network and then start Mycroft. You will need a mycroft account (create one on mycroft.ai) and add this device in home.mycroft.ai/devices with the pairing code that appears on your screen.
You can also disable or ignore mycroft if you don't plan to use it, but is really cool, so plug a micro or use the remote control with an incorporated microphone (Wechip G20).

Ah good, it's not just me suffering this. I downloaded on 2020/06/30 (matching sha256) and the OS would not respond to any input.
I got to the Mycroft screen and was stuck. Even after registering Mycroft, still nothing worked. It wouldn't respond to and USB or HDMI input.
Installation was compressed files via Etcher....maybe that is the fault?
Are there any logs I should look at?
