The maintainer of atty has published an official notice that the crate is no longer
under development, and that users should instead rely on the functionality in the standard library's IsTerminal trait.

Alternative(s)

• std::io::IsTerminal - Stable since Rust 1.70.0 and the recommended replacement per the atty maintainer.
• is-terminal - Standalone crate supporting Rust older than 1.70.0

FWIW, it's a criterion dependency, which is used by the benchmark tool/test. The atty dependency has been switched to is-terminal on their side on their 0.5.0 release (we are relying on the 0.2.11).

I bumped the criterion crate to 0.5 in 1776 which should resolve this issue. I had to change this crate back to 0.2 so we can run tests with MSRV.

Closing for now since we're only using criterion as a dev dependency and we can't upgrade it without breaking our MSRV 1.63 CI tests.
