Please provide a new standard:8.0 image based on Ubuntu 24.04 (noble)

Describe the bug
The new Ubuntu release is out now. I'd love to see availability of the standard:8.0 image.

Is 7.0 able to be pulled locally without building from this repo?

Including a more recent version of docker would be valuable, the one included in the open PR is still 4 major version behind. New features like being able to mount secrets as env vars are very useful.
Or should that be a separate issue/PR?

I reached out to AWS Support to request a timeframe for when a Ubuntu 24.04 image would be available in CodeBuild, and received this response.

I'd like to inform you that there is already an active feature request discussion regarding Ubuntu 24.04 support in our public GitHub repository [1]. While I cannot provide specific timeline information (or any ETA) as product roadmaps are internal to AWS, I recommend you to share your use case and requirements in the GitHub discussion.

Additionally keeping your request in mind, I have submitted a dedicated feature request to our internal AWS CodeBuild service team specifically highlighting your interest in Ubuntu 24.04 Docker image support.

For the record, our use case is that we have EC2 instances running Ubuntu 24.04 and are blocked from using CodeBuild to generate artifacts for deployment on them due to the differences between 24.04 and 22.04 (the latest Ubuntu image supported by CodeBuild).
